There are several ways to serve as a missionary:

A Full-Appointed Missionary:
The general requirements for this missionary position are:
• Ministerial Ordination
• 2 years senior pastoral experience
• Prefer B.A. in Bible or Missions, but can have secular degree
• Must not have debts exceeding $200 per month

A Missionary In Training (MIT):
The general requirements for this missionary position are:
• Licensed
• Prefer B.A. in Bible, theology, missions, or pastoral ministry
• Age 21-30
• Must not have debts exceeding $100 per month

A Missionary Associate (MA):
Working with missionaries, a Missionary Associate must be:
• a born-again Christian.
• baptized in the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4.
• faithful to a local Assemblies of God Church.
• consistent in personal devotions.
• financially responsible, with a minimum indebtedness.

A MAP's Worker: A short term
assignment to assign projects and missionaries on the field. The
MAPS office provides placement for interested and qualified
individuals, from students to retirees, in many types of assignments
lasting from one to five months.* These opportunities include local
church ministries, coffeehouse ministry, Teen Challenge centers,
crusades, libraries, Bible schools, building maintenance,
housekeeping, literature production, Vacation Bible Schools, youth and
children's ministries and evangelistic outreaches.
